Collection: Mini Skid Steer Concrete Breaker
Mini Skid Steer Concrete Breaker
If you are looking to break concrete at your next demolition job, why not use your mini skid steer to get the job done?
Given how powerful and compact a mini skid steer is, many operators are beginning to prefer to use them with a concrete breaker attachment over larger machines such as mini excavators and full size skid steers.
If you are considering the same thing, keep on reading below to learn more.
Choosing The Right Mini Skid Steer Concrete Breaker
There are a couple important considerations when you are choosing the correct concrete breaker for your mini skid steer. These include, but are not limited to, the weight of your breaker, the hydraulic flow requirements, the tool you are using, and the mount on the breaker.
Concrete breaker manufacturers will define a recommended weight range for the mini skid steer. For example, Blue Diamond’s HB95 hydraulic breaker attachment requires the host machine to be between 2,650 and 4,000 pounds. Ensuring that your mini skid steer falls within this range will ensure that your skid steer can lift and manage the breaker without risking tipping.
Manufacturers also establish guidelines on the auxiliary hydraulic flow requirements for their mini skid steer concrete breaker attachments. Being sure that you don’t exceed these limits will protect your breaker from damage.
Running too much hydraulic flow through the attachments will damage the attachment and possibly the host machine. Proper hydraulic flow combined with proper use and maintenance of the attachment will prevent the hydraulic fluid from over heating and causing damage as well.
Choosing The Right Mini Skid Steer Concrete Breaker Tool
Several variations of breaker tools are available. Although a regular chisel tool covers 80% of breaker applications, you may have specific needs that require a different tool such as stone crushing.
Wider spade tools are available, as well as narrower cone shaped tools and blunt crushing tools.
Proper use your breaker will keep which ever tool you choose in proper working order. This includes ensuring that you don’t over heat the tool and “mushroom” the working end.
Ensure You Have The Proper Mount
As with all mini skid steer attachments, it’s important to ensure that you have a mount that will couple to your mini skid steer. Be sure to specify to your dealer what mini skid steer you are using to ensure proper fitment.
